Industries and Applications for Vending

1sourcevend’s Automated Vending Manager (AVM) inventory management solutions help distributors control customer inventory across industries. Our non-retail vending machines are flexible enough to be placed anywhere, including manufacturing, fleet management, veterinary, construction, aerospace and more.

Combined with the vending machines, our user-friendly software system can profitably provide inventory control for low- and high-cost disposable and reusable items, including everything from safety PPE and drill bits to medical supplies and power tools.

Examples of how and where our customers use our inventory control solutions

A safety distributor vends consumables such as gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, tie-back sleeves, safety vests and other PPE on the plant floors of industrial manufacturers. They also serve machine shops, which use the vending machines to manage items such as cutting wheels and drill bits.

A two-location industrial distributor placed machines in a gold mine. The machines vend safety PPE equipment, such as safety vests, hard hats, and lined and unlined gloves. Some of the machines also vend flashlights, headlamps, pens, respirator filters, batteries and small tools like crescent wrenches.

An industrial distributor placed a vending machine at the point of use for employees on the bottling line of a whiskey plant. The machine vends special glasses, gloves, aprons and sleeves those employees use. That customer’s goal was to reduce consumption, and it no longer needs a separate employee to control usage.

An industrial distributor put a vending machine in a fleet maintenance shop. The customer uses it to manage the usage of higher-dollar items by its mechanics. This includes drill bits, safety glasses and gloves, circular saw blades, grinding discs and wire brushes.

An industrial distributor vends aerosols, cleaners, lubricants, safety glasses and gloves, batteries and other items for the mold maintenance area of an auto parts manufacturing plant. The manufacturer uses the machine to control usage and save money.

One industrial distributor has three machines in a steel mill to minimize the number of trips the customer’s employees have to make to the warehouse to get tools and supplies. They vend items such as safety vests, gloves, batteries, markers and duct tape.

Any industry that would benefit from improved inventory automation and control can benefit from vending, including all types of manufacturing, military, oil and gas, utility, retail DC, rail/transit, and food and beverage.
